Add a Splash of Color to Your Basics

Its Summer. The sun is bright and your wardrobe should be too. So let's add a few bright items to all those basic black/grey/navy/khaki pieces in our closet.

For example, we took a basic black jersey shift dress wit ha ruffled collar (Ann Taylor LOFT, New w/Tags, Size L, $25) and mixed it around with a few in-stock items to create two bright new looks.


For the office:

Additions: (1) 3/4 sleeve cropped cardigan in bright pink (JP Richard, Size L, $13); (2) Skinny belt (white, model's own); (3) Two bangles (black/silver $6, white/gold $5); (4) Black patent peeptoe slingbacks (Nine West, New w/Tags, size 9, $15); (5) Leather briefcase (Moda Italiana, Sale $25)

Finished 'Office' look:

Look #2: Date Night

Additions: (1) Two bangels (orange plastic $5, white/gold $5); (2) orange & cork wedges (Fiona, size 10, $10); and (3) a floral print handbag ($15).

[Note: We would also add a necklace or brooch in orange or yellow, but don't have anything in stock at the moment that seemed to fit with this.]
